Our Story

MosaicTO is a community-driven, non-profit initiative dedicated to promoting greater understanding of Toronto's rich religious diversity through accessible and community-informed educational resources. Originally conceived in May 2026 as part of the Muslim Youth Fellowship delivered by the Urban Alliance on Race Relations (UARR) in partnership with the City of Toronto, the project was created in response to the growing need for a centralized platform where residents can learn about the many faith communities that shape Toronto's cultural and civic landscape. By bringing together authentic voices from diverse religious organizations, MosaicTO seeks to foster mutual respect, challenge misconceptions, and encourage meaningful dialogue across communities.

Our mission is to make religious knowledge understandable, approachable, and relevant to the general public. Every article and resource on MosaicTO is carefully tailored to present religious beliefs, traditions, values, and practices in clear, unbiased language that is accessible to people of all backgrounds, regardless of their prior knowledge or faith. As a community-run initiative supported by the City of Toronto and local faith organizations, we aspire to become Toronto's most comprehensive public resource on religious diversity by representing every major religious tradition and spiritual community across the city. Beyond providing educational content, MosaicTO connects residents with places of worship, community resources, events, and opportunities for interfaith engagement, helping to build a more informed, inclusive, and connected Toronto where diversity is understood, respected, and celebrated.

Author's Profile

Farryzki Noor Thoriq (he/him) is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, where he earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, Public Policy and Urban Studies. He currently works at the Mayor's Office in supporting constituency affairs and is an incoming law student at Jentera Law School, Jakarta. Throughout his academic and professional career, Farryzki has worked across government, research and non-profit sectors across Indonesia, Japan and Canada. His work focuses on public policy, urban planning and economic development, alongside fostering inclusive communities through evidence-based initiatives. As a founder of MosaicTO, Farryzki hopes to make religious diversity more understandable and accessible to more than 3 million Torontonians by creating a trusted platform that celebrates the many faith communities that contribute to Toronto's social and cultural fabric.

Islamic Faith

Imam Adil Mannan

Imam Adil Mannan is an Islamic scholar and community leader serving the Muslim community in the Greater Toronto Area. A graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah with a degree in Shari'ah (Islamic Law), he has spent more than a decade providing religious leadership, youth mentorship, family counselling, and educational programming for diverse Muslim communities in Canada and abroad. He is also a certified Qur'an educator (Ijazah in Hafs 'An 'Asim) and the founder of DeenStudy, an educational initiative dedicated to making Islamic knowledge more accessible to Muslim youth and families. Through his work with mosques, schools, and community organizations, Imam Adil remains committed to promoting authentic Islamic scholarship, compassionate community service, and meaningful interfaith understanding in Toronto.
